no passport = not going anywhere

Interesting turn of events... while filling out visa applications, I discovered that my  passport was about to expire. When making application for a new one, some inconvenient strike started up the same day ith goverment workers. What was supposed to be a 'fast tracked' passport application, wasn't. Our days are getting very few with regarding getting visa applications in in time to still be able to travel... it looks as though we wil have to cancel flights... ho hum

Dof or What?

For someone who travels as often as I do... its pretty scary to think that one is able to make flight bookings with an ' as good as expired ' passport... what do you say? Thats not all though... finding this out when there is a govenment workers strike on the go does little to relieve the stress levels... ho hum... off we go to see what can be done about it... oh yes... another reason for high stress levels is very basically the fact that there are certain countries that simply do not issue visas on temporary passports ... big sigh as she reflects on her stupidity at this time!

Dutrieux Data

In house:
Well, we have survived the onslaught of the VuvuZulus! That fearsome tribe that have trolled our land, drank at our watering holes and partied at the fan fest venues not to mention those who were able to find ways into those huge arenas where they watched other tribes chasing a ball around a vast green veldt. Yes we are the proud owners of a Vuvuzela – the voice that calls “Victory” or “Gees” or just plain “Proudly South African!” Now it’s back to normality... whatever that might mean. Work continues for Dorianne and Jordan. Though they are ‘self employed’ they still gotta do what they gotta do! JP coaches and teaches and Rita... yes well, Rita does whatever it is she does to fill the gaps.

In Ministry:
The Nebulous message has been packaged and is being put to the test. Thank you to all who have helped in whatever way – without you we could not make this statement. We have started implementing the new method of presenting the course with much success. The system works and we are in a good place. We do however sense that now that we have done what we have attempted for so long, that there are some subtle and not so subtle changes on the horizon. We are looking forward to seeing how things will unfold in the next few months. We stand in awe of God’s faithfulness in all these things.

In General:
Growing closer to God is an interesting experience, and this journey we are on certainly calls for lots of ‘interesting’. We are privileged to be in a position to see how God moves in people’s lives. How He grows them and stretches them to His Glory. In the KE Mission Fellowship – held each Saturday evening, we can visibly see God’s hand in others lives.

In Prayer:
We thank God that we are able to be His servants in this journey.
We praise Him for good health. We thank Him for his abounding grace – we camp on that.
We pray that He would show us what we need to know and when. That we would heed His voice in all we do.
That all the students that pass through our lives and teachings are changed in a special Kingdom dimension towards God.
We pray too that as we seek to serve God in all we do, we might continue to touch the hearts of many.

In Parting:
Know that in all things, God is in control. When things seem to be going badly, or simply in our opinion askew, know deep down that God knows all and has a plan. Learn to trust Him in ALL things.

Data for March

Time flies when one is having fun… well that’s what is said anyway, at least we know how fast it flies when we are busy. These past couple of months are proof of that!

At Home: It has been an interesting time adapting to being just the four of us during these past five months. Dorianne has got her freelancing in to full swing and is loving every moment of it. She finally graduated from MGI with a degree in design and multi media. Jordan has been going through some teething issues with regards to running a business; let’s just say that at this stage, he will always need a PA! In the mean time Mom has stepped up to the plate and is trying to fill that gap. Mostly as far as Jean-Pierre and Rita are concerned, they have been working very hard in getting the new course material together for the launch.

World Outreach: Jean-Pierre and Rita attended the Africa Consultation - held for ministries and missionaries affiliated to them-for what was to be a time of fellowship and ministry as well as helping to plan the road on which the organization is on.  They received a little more than they bargained for in those four days. Included in these days was a time with Member Care folk from New Zealand , which was  a bonus! White River is beautiful at this time of year and the weather was nice and cool too. The three hour drive home gave much time for planning and retrospection.

At the Office: Heads down and get to it! This seems to be the mantra for the moment. No time for much else. As we have been busy with office alterations to facilitate classes, we are about to find out just how good our planning was! We launched Starting Point and follow shortly with Turning Point. Right now though there are new power points to put together incorporating the new illustrations etc. So… then we get to print the manuals. Very exciting times indeed. A HUGE THANK YOU to those who have come to the party and given of their time, finances and talents- and just plain hard labour, we really appreciate you.

In General: As a whole we are progressing rather well on all fronts. There are still more changes to make in the office area to accommodate thirty plus diners. That means Rita needs to move her office into what was her studio… anybody feel like carting stuff around? No? I didn’t think so, We don’t really feel like it either J.

Prayer: That we get done well in time for the start of Turning Point.
That printing runs smoothly.
For the delegates attending, that their lives would be changed!
Pray too that we might continue to depend fully on God in all things, and not to lean on our own understanding- making our own plans.
That all we put our hands and hearts to will bring much joy to the Father.

God doesn’t call the qualified, rather He qualifies the called

frayed

Even though I am at a good place as far as projects in front of me are concerned, I find myself feeling just a little frayed at the edges when I think of the amount of things I have taken on. I have taken them on all willingly, but am also afraid that I may have bitten off a little more than I am able to chew.
Bookkeeping still floats my boat. I know I do not necessarily do it the most efficient way-yet, but it is certainly better under control than when I first started.
General admin is proving to be a rewarding challenge, but SO much needs to be kept in mind all the time. I am grateful for a certain RED BOOK that assists greatly in keeping me abreast of all the tasks.
I am looking forward to a productive week this week, oh right, I have in fact organised myself a 'day off' tomorrow. That means I have cut my work week a little short - ho hum, hum ho... tough! That's the way its going to be... I love this life.

Dutrieux data end Jan

In Ministry:
This year we are truly hoping to make great strides. Funny how one is able to make such statements so early in the year… Let us pray that this time next year this part of the newsletter will proclaim JUST how great the strides were in the Kingdom! Passage to Purpose, the Encounter, is shaping on all fronts. Including the physical preparations for a better ‘classroom’ environment. We feel that the base is finally coming into its fullness regarding serving the things of the Kingdom to a larger degree. Already each Saturday the place hosts a ‘Output’ fellowship, as of next month Sundays will be ‘Input” fellowship time here on the base too.
Courses will be kicking off soon too, so all in all, these two acres are going to be earning their keep! Now if only we could get our washed away driveway to be able to keep up!
And in the family:
Jean-Pierre is still doing one on one coaching for the KIF and loving it. Jean-Pierre is finally ‘legal’. He went for his Motor cycle learners test this month and passed! Oddly, he was stopped by the police asking for his license for the first time in his life right after he received his piece of paper. Go figure! Both he and Jordan go for their Driver tests in Feb. Jordan has started his own business in a more official format and is busy, busy, busy! He loves his new van, now he just needs to pay for it! Hence the busyness. Dorianne is freelancing and working extremely hard. Her time is more like the USA at this stage as the people she is working for, are based there. Quite intriguing how our world has become such a small place…technology never ceases to amaze. Rita is eagerly setting up admin  for handling the new course details and also she has taken on the bookkeeping side of things for Jordan’s side of things. That is a bit of a challenge at this stage as she has never had the opportunity to set up something from scratch… but she has some wonderful friends who are only too keen to help out in that department. J
Jean-Pierre and Rita went to the Cape to attend a good friend’s wedding and make some wonderful new friends! It was a good time.
Please continue to pray for us as a family during this time.
We are excited to see what God has in store for us.
Please pray that we will hear His voice in each step we take.
Pray for safety during building renovations.
For sanity in all the course endeavors and changes.
That we might find Joy in all things

catching up in general

The last while has certainly been a time of emotional rollercoaster riding!
We had an amazing time in India and are so grateful for the experience. We returned, spent a week away while doing some sending cell training and general resting to have our young Micaela die. What a ride that was... we were sad that what we imagined would be was no longer possible, and yet we were so at peace because she is at rest now. Then came the end of the year's activities... lots of maintenance work and such. Christmas day being a day as any other, the only difference being that the guys came in for egg and Bacon sandwiches for lunch then went right back to work again I was playing Catch Up in the office with the bookkeeping and other admin tasks that are supposed to keep me out of mischief.
We did however spend a lovely afternoon with friends and family on Jean-Pierre's birthday.
It was wonderful to catch up with friendship ties.
Jordan, sadly worked like a mad thing on his birthday. Dorianne finally got paid for a job that she had worked very hard and long  on and now things seems to be settling down to a subtle rush.
Rita would love to get her butt off to gym again, but somehow the energy and inclination in that direction seems to be missing...
Summer is turning out to be rather cool at the moment, with much needed rain to keep the gardens in bloom and the lawn/grasses growing at a sickening pace.
Nothing seems to happen slowly here.

December Data

May the New Year bring you ever closer to God
and His purpose for your life.
My you find your rest in the shadow of His wings.

A round up in the ministry:
The beginning of the year saw some travelling and then some direction for the training which we do.
Midyear was a time of great change in the lives of the people that are coached on a regular basis.
More travel in an outreach JP led to India. An exposure trip that changed lives.
All in all a slower but very successful year was had. We are grateful to God for His guiding hand in all we do. His protection while ‘out there’ and for all who stay behind. The fellowship went on each week regardless whether Jean-Pierre was there or not, this is huge! Displaying the fact that it is not about the man, but about the purpose of God and the calling on each one of us and our response to that.
The video dept has a fulltime member of the team taking care of it.
There is always room however for more people to get involved in other projects within the Kingdom Encounters portfolio…

And in the family:
The College and university days are now officially over in the home. Both Dorianne and Jordan have completed their studies – no we do not have actual results yet!
Jean-Pierre has wonderful peace with where God is taking the ministry.
Rita has been challenged to study languages so -ja -well -no –fine, as we say here in South Africa…

Then there were four:
Sadly, we said a final goodbye to Micaela who slipped off to be with Jesus on the 29th November. There will be a hole in our hearts in the shape of Micaela, her life has touched many hearts. Peace and pain dance intimately to the rhythm of our broken hearts, it’s up to us who takes the lead.

Please continue to pray for us as a family during this time. We are planning our activities for the new season. We are excited to see what God has in store for us. Please pray that we will hear His voice in each step we take. That He might be glorified in all we put our hands and hearts to.
Till next time…
